(1) Let stand
This method is limited to hydraulic oil that has not been emulsified. Because the specific gravity of water is greater than the specific gravity of oil, the water will gradually settle on the bottom of the tank when the tank is filled with water. Stop the machine and let the oil in the tank stand for several hours to allow enough time for the water to settle. Then, just open the drain valve at the bottom of the fuel tank and drain the sedimented water. If the temperature of the oil tank is low, the oil temperature can be heated, and the maximum temperature should not exceed 60℃, which will help the oil-water separation.
(2) Vacuum dehydrator
This method is suitable for most water ingress situations, including heavily emulsified oils. Using the principle that the evaporation temperature of water is reduced under vacuum conditions, and the evaporation is large, the oil and water are completely separated. This method can quickly remove the water in the hydraulic oil, including most of the dissolved water.
(3) Use a filter with water absorption function
For systems with a small amount of water ingress or less serious emulsification, the hydraulic oil manufacturer suggests that a hydraulic oil filter with water absorption function can be used to filter out the water in the oil. This type of filter can also filter impurities in the oil.
(4) Replace hydraulic oil
For hydraulic systems with severe oil pollution or lack of means for dehydration, all hydraulic oil can be replaced. After draining the oil contaminated by water, add new oil to the lowest oil level that the oil pump can circulate, and start the oil pump to circulate. And continuously carry out various actions of the hydraulic system, so that the oil trapped in various valves and moving parts that cannot be discharged flows back to the oil tank. Then drain the fuel tank clean and replace it with new working oil. In this way, the machine can be used normally.
